I'm officially a newbie. I've made three Janeys. :>

I've succeeded in making things. The first Janey (the Chesapeake Janey, who started out in Yew) chopped on some trees (after seeing some wildly dressed guy do it). After about running to and fro between about five Big Trees, she got some logs and made some shafts. Wheee! Are big trees the only ones you can chop? Or can you chop any tree?

Then she bought some feathers from the bow guy, and made some arrows... and shot them at a target. Nothing happened, so far as I can tell, other than I lost some arrows from RobinHooding them. She decided not to do that any more.

Then I went back out and tried lumberjacking again... and it wouldn't work. It wouldn't let me click on any of the big trees... and I went around with the target cursor for a long time and didn't know how to get rid of it. Frustrating.

Then the Chesapeake Janey wandered out of the guard zone and saw a Raven land at her feet. An omen? Whatever - she whipped out her bow and killed it. And got nothing. She thought maybe if she put the corpse in her backpack then it might give her something, but it wouldn't let her do that.

She wandered quickly back into the guard zone.

Then I read somebody's reply here... and made a new Janey on LS and started her out in Britian. I looked for the tailor shop. I got lost. I ended up in the throne room. The Big Man wasn't home. I succeeded in putting money in the bank - something that seemed, from reading the newsgroup, impossible to do w/o getting it stolen. I guess nobody was interested in my 100 gp.

I found out what lag is. That wasn't fun.

Some nice person named Sif (there was a Sif in Realm - I wonder if she's the same person?) let me follow her to the tailor shop. I hung out there, making bolts of material and shirts, kilts, and other things. Then the vendors wouldn't let me sell them. Then all of a sudden they would. Strange. I made myself a Fancy Dress so I wouldn't be mistaken for a vendor any more. It's white and pretty. :) I think I made some money but I'm not sure. I've got remnants of stuff that I can't make anything out of any more. Soembody left a hide in the shop. I picked it up. I wonder where he got it. I want some more of those.

I wish my backpack was bigger so I could arrange things better.

I wish I could 'join' people and follow them around automatically.

I wish I could have designed my own face.

I wish the long hair was prettier.

I like my fancy dress. :)
