Links
are Fixed. Hopefully. I've fixed a bunch of links that will hopefully make life easier for the three people who read my web page. Most notably, the Sims Diary works now. Haven't played The Sims since I quit the net back in January. Hot Date kills my poor PII-400, and half the fun with The Sims is downloading some of the ten zillion objects and doing some cheap and easy Home Decorating... and when you have no net, you can't do that. If you happen to find any Bad Links, I really do want to know about 'em so I can make another "Fixed Links" update, and feel like I actually update my web page every so often. So please either e-mail me or if you'd rather make fun of me in public, post it in the Forums.
I'm baaaack... After a six-month hiatus from the internet (well, home internet anyway), I got my account back. I figure I have been gone long enough now to teach myself good habits, and besides -- the beta test for Star Wars is coming and - who knows - I might get chosen. I had some goals to accomplish when I quit the net, and I've done every single one of them except the most important one. Oh well. Maybe someday... Anywho. I updated the EQ Pictures section to include a bunch of screenshots I took just before I left the game.
The Best Janey Yet. I bought Dark Age of Camelot, even though I'm broke. I'm playing Janey the Scout in Albion/Palomides -- but only about 3 days a week. I need to say: Mythic artists can draw. Really. They should've given about 8,000 more face choices, cause everybody and their sister has my face. But if you look at the Janey-face in "Realm Pictures" ... and then you look at the face of the DAOC-Janey in "Who I Am" ... they're actually pretty close. Except the Realm one is a cartoon. But you get my point. The DAOC Janey is the best Janey yet. It's the closest to how I picture her being. I don't like her hair, though. It looks like I need a shower. A really long one. But other than that... it's really good. I really like the Clothes there. Except there aren't enough -- not by a loooong shot. But what's there is really great. The Pants get a big thumbs-up.
The Sims - Oboy! Due to too much real-life stress that makes me not able to play well with others, I've been playing The Sims lately. What an awesome game. I've written a bunch of stuff about it on the Forums, which I'm compiling in a Sims Diary.
I Got My Leafy Sword. :) I wrote a story about it, too. But I don't like the ending and I'm too lazy to finish it, and I don't want to post it till I'm happy with it. Eventually I'll finish. Really, I will. Someday. Maybe.
Things that make you go hmm... Guess what was in the patch message today. Yep! You got it! "- Added some code that might fix a bug with female hair and Erudite hoods that caused them to fail to appear sometimes when a helmet was removed. This would cause some characters to look as though the back of their head was missing at times." Hooray for Verant! :) I wonder if they really did it for the love of Mary... ;)
For the Love of Mary... So there I am, minding my own business in Everquest. And all of a sudden, I'm missing half my head. Really. Half My Head Is Gone. The worst part about it is that Verant has known about this problem for Months Upon Months, and has not fixed it. It is a bizarre bug, too. I could just be Sitting There and have my head go away. Taking off/putting on my hat does nothing. I have to completely camp out to desktop and go back in (which takes somewhere in the neighborhood of a half an hour) to fix the bug. Last night, I camped to desktop to get my head back (after hearing /sighs from all five of my group members for making them wait so I could fix it), only to have the bug happen again ten minutes later. You think I'm joking? I'm not joking. Take a look ...
I have /petitioned. I have /feedbacked. I have /bugreported ... and nothing. Nothing! For The Love of Mary -- Fix This Bug!!
Now I am.. Truly.. Famous. Sunsword was very kind to offer me some web space for my little site. He was so kind that I took him up on the offer within about two seconds after receiving it. I had been looking for a new web host, since I had written a new EQ Story and didn't know where to put it. Originally, my site was located at Geocities, but they have pop-up ads and - worse than that - I can't remember my password to do any updating, and all I get from them is automated responses. After geocities, my homepage was located at homepage.com, which I cannot provide a link for because they seem to have gone dot.bomb. Then, long-time friend Dundee said, "Hey, you write about games. Write Sunsword and see if he'll host you." A bit of hemming and hawing later, here I am. :) There are links to some stories over there on the left. Most of them were originally posted on Usenet. Some of them are about EQ, some about UO, and some have nothing to do with games whatsoever. There's also some goofy stuff about pants. I even put up a thing about where I tried to make myself sick playing games. Don't for get to send me mail. I love mail. Just as long as it's not spam. Or mean, or anything. |
